I know I can’t help everyone, but I can at least try. I believe that charity begins at home and that is why I am the ambassador for Feed a Child. When it comes to children, I have an enormous passion. Regardless the situation, I believe that all children should have at least a chance at success. In 2001 I lost my baby of three and a half months in a flood when Lydenburg’s dam wall broke. Although that was one of the most challenging times in my life, I believe that it had helped me to become the person I am today. It made me a better person and had added to my passion for what I love and care for most: children.
My heart goes into every challenge I have to face, regardless if it is ‘Feed a Child’ or providing school children at a farm school with warm beanies for winter. Children are like wet cement; whatever falls on them makes an impression.
What you see is what you get. I have no pretence. No matter how big or small my contribution may be towards charity, I feel that every bit helps. Mother Theresa said and I quote: “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.” I live by that motto. I am also a proud wife to my magnificent husband and his children. He understands and supports my need for charity all the way.
Everyone needs encouragement. Everyone needs hope. These gifts you can give to anyone at any time regardless your situation. Anyone can make a difference. The question, however is: Will you at least try?
