PG Diploma in Management specializing in Corporate Social Investment from University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business, along with a Certificate in Mobilizing Assets for Community-Driven Development from the Coady Institute in Antigonish in Canada. Micro Franchise Consultant and a Community Economic Development Expert who has excelled in mobilizing and motivating individuals from poor communities to empower themselves through the economic development programmes that focused on training, mentoring and coaching. Jayshree writes: Countless people do amazing things every single day of their lives. They do this because it is a calling. They do this without expecting anything in return. They do it selflessly. These are the people that need that small recognition of appreciation. It makes what they do so worthwhile. I want them to have the self confidence to live their dream. I want more people to uplift, mobilize and motivate communities to drive their own economic development and empower themselves. I want them to know that it is possible and that it can be done! In doing so, we can uplift every poor community to become economically active. Difference Makers SA is a powerful organization that acknowledges and rewards individuals that go the extra mile doing good, that no one else takes the time to recognise. It is an organization that encourages people in that they have been acknowledged to pass it on, and acknowledge and reward others that do good. It is amazing how many people there are out there that do amazing things, and no one knows about it. This is such a wonderful way to acknowledge them and thank them for it. It gives one such a sense of fulfilment and joy to be recognised. The more one is recognised, the more one will continue to do amazing things. Difference makers SA is an organization that creates a platform for the Top 100 SA Difference Maker initiative that showcase the amazing work done mostly under the radar by some of the most amazing individuals. They showcase these initiatives and make people who do life changing things feel that they are very appreciated. I would like to be one of the Top 100 SA Difference Makers because I would like to inspire other women and youth to do the same that I do. I automatically |
become part of a Global Movement being part of the platform as a Top 100 SA Difference Makers; what we do is, we want to acknowledge 1 billion people by 2020, it is amazing to know that 40 million people in the world already did this, S.A. started in 2013. The idea is that 1 out of 7 people on planet earth will receive a Blue Ribbon that says: “Who I am makes a difference”. I love the movement, it is almost like the Pay it forward movement, everybody involved do the same, we nominate someone and we make sure that they pass on” To help spread the message of Love and Appreciation”.
Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to help people, especially those that were impoverished and helpless. I was 9 years old when I started doing this on a voluntary basis with a spiritual organization that focused on serving mankind. I became very involved in doing this and there came a time when I wanted to make this a career. I subsequently ended up doing this, and it resulted in paving the journey to where I currently am right now. I was blessed to study Mobilizing Assets for Community Driven Development in Canada in 2011. This opened a whole new world for me as I am able to integrate all my learning’s in a way that allows me to drive a sustainable approach to development by integrating economic development. This allows me to drive community economic development within Townships, Rural areas as well as informal settlements in South Africa and beyond. I am passionate about community development. But not the needs based approach, rather the asset based approach. I find great satisfaction when I can go into a community, and through the asset based approach to community development workshop, am able to mobilize and motivate people to drive their own development and empowerment. I am the person that facilitates this process. When that light goes on and a person realises that there are so many assets around them that can assist them in starting a venture that can sustain them, than that is my purpose. It is not what you don’t have, its more about what you have and what you can do with what you have that matters. I want people to realise that it’s not a matter of saying I have nothing. Everyone has something that they can utilize. We, as people are our biggest asset, we have skills, we have networks, we have the ability to do something with what we have! I am a change maker that makes people aware that we can be the change we want to see. I help people regain their self-confidence and the drive to create the life they want to have. This is where it all starts. You can take the most wonderful opportunities to the underprivileged, but if they do not have the motivation and the drive to make it happen, then it will all fail.
I mobilize, motivates, skill, support, create micro community based businesses and support them.
