Malethola Matube

Founder : Progressive Women In Golf NPO

S.A. Welcomes Malethola Matube as a Top 100 S.A. Difference Maker.
Malethola in her own words: “My gratitude is extended to God for continuing to use me as His vessel to fulfil His promise. Thank you, Julie Steynberg  the Founder & Ambassador for Difference Makers S.A. and your team for accepting nominations from exceptional leaders like Mama Theresa Moila and recognising men and women like me who are passionate about changing the world to be a better place for all. I am humbled and honoured to be part of this amazing Global Movement Changing Lives Making a Difference; a culture of extraordinary Change Makers”.
Malethola is a woman with humble beginnings and as a Christian she believes that all her  achievements are through God's Grace; her praying mother and solid faith. Born in Sebokeng in the Vaal, she grew up in Orange Farm, an informal settlement in Johannesburg. She was brought up by her mother with her two siblings in a one room shack. As her mother was full time employed and operating her own clothing designing and manufacturing business, she was forced into early childhood parenting at the age of twelve. Read more about her story on an article that was published about Malethola: - https://goo.gl/8eexMz.
Malethola Matube is an ICT professional with twenty years’ experience and an avid golfer for twelve years; and an athlete since child hood. She uses golf and ICT to enable businesses to grow and achieve sustainability; women and children in disadvantaged areas to prosper and individuals to achieve personal mastery.  She is still studying in pursuit of MSc (Master in Science):  Marketing Management and PGA (Professional Golf Association) qualification. “It is through golf that Malethola Matube continues to achieve personal mastery and inspire others to achieve excellence”.
Progressive Women In Golf cherishes collaboration with likeminded initiatives and businesses that add value to its mission. Malethola was introduced to golf by Eddie Makeketlane, a golf fanatic. When she completed her diploma in Software Engineering she enrolled for the Management Advanced Program (MAP) at Wits Business School. Malethola discovered the depth of golf and its benefits and she developed a passion for it. To pursue her newly found passion for golf, upon completion of MAP she enrolled at the Wits Golf Academy. Her knowledge with regards to the synergy between golf and business was advanced. In a short space of time Malethola’s passion grew from just wanting to play the game to identifying the gaps and creating solutions that will inspire more people, specifically women and children to play golf and pursue influential roles within the golf industry. This process led her to identifying a major gap in products and services that would appeal to women and children on and off the golf course.
Through Malethola’s inspiring journey, Progressive Women In Golf (PWINGOLF) was officially launched on the 9th August 2015, a non-profit organisation (NPO) that seeks to enable girl children, and women, specifically those from disadvantaged areas to achieve excellence; enabling them to be successful leaders in all aspects of their lives.
At the official launch of Progressive Women In Golf, Malethola introduced her next initiative:  a women and children golf clinic with a special focus on women and children who were not yet ready to play golf;  and non-golfers. On the 9th August 2017, the "Take A Girl Child to The Golf Course" concept became live. Young women from disadvantaged communities are benefiting from Malethola’s non-profit organisation. Many consider Malethola to be a genuine advocate of the profound saying that "Your Background Does Not Define Your Destiny! You Were Born with Amazing Power Within You, Release It" - A slogan that is the heart Progressive Women In Golf.
