Marleen van der WaltDynamic Women for Children Marleen van der Walt is a mom, wife, friend, daughter and director of Dynamic Woman For Children organization. To be nominated as a Top 100 S.A. Difference Maker to me is an honor. I do what I do because this is my passion, it is my heart to make children’s life’s better. Difference Makers SA is a great platform to link with like minded people. People who also care about the needs of others who are not as fortunate as most. Connecting with the platform, enables us to provide a much better service to the people / children that we are involved with. The people involved in the platform are all focused on helping / enabling people in need. Having a common goal allow us to more easily achieve our own goals in the community that we are involved in and will also allow us to expand our operations to include even more people / children. What I like most about the platform is that it provides the opportunity to expand our existing network of supporters to a potential international audience. The difference I make is not from me nor for myself, but I am only an instrument in God’s hand, living out my calling and passion. We here at DWFC Do love. It’s truly a privilege to be doing what I do daily. Changing Lives making a difference in the lives of children is our dream and our passion. My dream for every child that crosses my path is to empower them to break the chain of bad choices and to live an impactful life, to their full potential. We here at DWFC invest in the development of children, not only we care and feed them, but we empower them to be responsible adults with a purpose driven mindset. Marleen van der Walt’s two daughters, Rozahn and Michelle van Biljon also share the same calling, passion and vision. We belief that the children of today, determines the future for tomorrow and by investing in the lives of children in unfortunate situations and environments, we invest in the future of our country. “Let’s raise children who won’t have to recover from their childhood”. Pam Leo. The management of Dynamic Women for Children has identified a vacuum with the children’s school aftercare. There is not always sufficient adult supervision and opportunities at the informal dwellings to keep the children creatively and positive occupied. Thus a private care centre was started to look after the children and to provide meals in the afternoon. Since 2010 we operate from a private care centre in the Kameelfontein area. The children are from the surrounding area. The large majority lives in informal settlements in the Kameeldrift and Kameelfontein areas. The ages of the children are between 4 years (Grade RRR) and 13 years ( Grade 7 ) |
