She drives for change in environmental and social betterment. She is a visionary and a natural leader that can positively influence and motivate others to change behaviours to have a tangible impact on environmental improvement. Patricia says: “We are only borrowing the planet from our children and their children and therefore need to protect it. My motto is “If every person makes a small individual contribution or change for a better future on the planet, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, collectively the effect of this change will be great”! I strive to educate the youth and adults on environmental issues to foster change on how we can work together as communities to be the earth’s custodians and truly make a difference for generations to come”. She continues and says: “I would love to be a part of DMI-SA (Difference Makers Int. S.A.) as this would be an amazing platform to use as a loud speaker to communicate environmental improvements and initiatives from. We are all global citizens and therefore need to stand together to make a combined change in betterment for communities and the environment. This platform could really make a huge impact if we all used our common goal to make a difference, and in this case, for mother earth, where everybody benefits. Nothing is too big or too small to make a global environmental change.” |
She is the Founder and Managing Director of Reclite SA (Pty) Ltd, a multi-award-winning business with a nationwide and international offering of waste electronic and electrical equipment recycling.
She pioneered change in South Africa with regards to environmental improvement in South Africa, with these achievements being recognised internationally and nationally, and she has developed a trusted reputation and brand for herself and her company.
She shares her knowledge to any individual that aspires to making a change by eliminating bad environmental practices, she mentors many young environmental students and offers her experience to help other people young and old to love and care for mother earth.
Patricia serves on the United Nations Minamata Convention Experts Group working with international experts on eradicating toxic mercury from the environment and communities and has recently been selected by the World Resources Forum as one of the experts to join their team to perform training in African countries on sustainable electronic waste and lighting waste management.
