CINDY NORCOTT

FOUNDER/CHAIRPERSON: THE ROBIN HOOD FOUNDATION |
MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER | AUTHOR | ENTREPRENEUR | BUSINESS COACH | PHILANTHROPIST | OWNER/MANAGER PRO APPOINTMENTS AND PRO TALENT

Owner/Country Ambassador, Difference Makers S.A. Julie B Steynberg “It is with great honour that I introduce to the people of S.A. this remarkable young woman with a heart of gold. She had a dream; she never gave up on her dream, and indefinitely is she Changing Lives Making a difference in her community and in the work place. Cindy is a Change Maker one in a million; it is such a privilege to have her on board as Top 100 S.A. Difference Maker”.

Cindy Norcott: “I am a businesswoman and I have been blessed to run a successful recruitment agency for the past 25 years. I used to think that one day I would like to make a difference. In 2015, when my second daughter was born, I realised that she had 84 baby grows so I decided to start a community project called Love the Babies where I could get my friends to donate their pre-loved baby clothes and then we could distribute bags of second hand baby clothing and supplies to new mums from disadvantaged communities. These bags would be called Love the babies bags. We were very well supported and soon I decided to help the poor Black grannies burdened with the responsibility of caring for their poor grandchildren.

I started a project called Gogo bags where we made up bags of staple food items for these poor grannies. Soon thereafter, I formed an NPO called the Robin Hood Foundation and as our name suggests, we take from the rich and give to the poor. We focus on a variety of projects and each year, we have more than 100 community projects. One of our biggest projects is Bless a Granny where we visit more than 3000 senior citizens in Tafta old age homes and we give them gifts that are on their Christmas wish list as well as host a party with eats and entertainment and a group of volunteers to spend time with them.

Another project is Hope breakfasts where we invite school children from poor communities and we host a party for them and give them school uniforms, school shoes and stationery as well as toiletries and food. We also host parties every year at four schools for disabled children. We have also built two crèches, built a house for a gogo and refurbished a primary school. We have hosted three free entrepreneurial conferences for more than 2000 delegates. Our focus is to be unstructured opportunists who look for ways in which we can make a difference to the lives of the poorest members of society”.
