TEACHER | DIRECTOR FINANCE AT LIMPOPO TREASURY | CHARTERED MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT WITH CIMA HOLDING TWO MASTERS DEGREES, ONE FROM S.A AND ONE FROM LONDON

My name is Patience Ntuli, I am very delighted to be nominated by Julie https://www.differencemakers.co.za/sa-founder-julie-b-steynberg.html the Country Ambassador DMI-SA to be part of this exciting Global Love & Change Management. This is one of the highest call to humanity, a call to make a difference in the lives of ordinary citizens, one person living in poverty is one too many. I am delighted and honoured to be part of the Big Dream - One - Billion Dreams. I feel honoured and encourage to do more and to pass the Baton to the younger generation, therefore I promise to continue to spread the love and appreciation. This nomination as a Top 100 SA Difference Maker is an inspiration and wind beneath my wings.

From the live I lived as a Child of a Widow, I pledged to ensure that: “I do for others what I wished someone would do for me”. I subscribe to the notion that: “You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who cannot repay you” by John Bunyan. I therefore thank the Country Ambassador DMI-SA for such an initiative and for being an inspiration to us all. A special word of thanks goes to Creselda Ndhlovu for making me part of the work you do as philanthropist yourself.  I have learned and experienced that a person who is appreciated will always do more than what is expected, this nomination and appreciation is therefore a loud message to me. I absolutely love everything about this Love & Change Movement I am now part of.

There are many unsung Heroines called: Mothers, our Mothers, my mother. They deserve the praise they get here. A Blue Ribbon belongs on her heart for sure. In my eyes a mother, any mother should be praised, they did good to many, fed many kids who were not their own, looked after their own children while the fathers were working far from home, they raised children as widows and single parents. I am doing this to honor and praise my Mother as my role Model. As a child of a Widow, I am who I am today. I believe being who I am makes a difference.

I was born in 1978 in Giyani from a family of five (3 boys and two girls). I am Married and blessed with four kids, two boys and two girls.

I am a Founder and CEO of Patience Ntuli Ministries, a Non- Profit Company that aims to improve the lives of children in SA and in the world. Our motto is “We are God’s extended hand”. I run a campaign called ‘Adopt A Child’, I call on professionals and communities to “adopt” a poor child, especially from a widowed family or orphaned child. The Adopters provide the child with Tuition, uniform, sanitary towels, school trips fare, lunch box, mentorship and any other gift that the Adopter willingly does. The Adopters send cash to the guardians to buy uniform or pay for tuition. I also run the “Keep a Girl Child at School” campaign, where we provide school kids with sanitary towels. I run a “Buy a pair of School Shoes” campaign, where I supply shoes to vulnerable school kids in both primary and high school, as part of encouraging kids to study as hard as they can I give school shoes / laptops to top learners in High school. The Matric top Learners are enabled a chance to have a laptop to do school work like other privileged kids at University. Due to my educational achievements and my poor background, I do career guidance and motivational talks to school kids especially matriculates. I run projects that aim to cloth poor kids and families, I donate clothes to poor families, I run a project called “Dress the Poor” I take clothes and other necessities to Mozambique to communities which were affected by the Cyclone. I respond to the needs of the communities and partner with others to build houses for the poor of the poorest. I partner with other professionals to provide counselling to vulnerable kids who are under different social challenges like, drug addiction, alcohol abuse, sexual abuse and other social issues like sexual orientation. I run a project called “Feed the Homeless” where I provide soup, mince, bread, blankets, mattresses etc to homeless people in Polokwane. This gives me a chance to understand their challenges and assist.

As a child of a Widow, I am aware of the challenges that women and kids face as they grow up. I hold “Girl Talk” for girls aged 7 to 12 years, we talk about body changes, dating, sexual abuse and human trafficking, etc. I hold sessions called:  “Teens Talk” where I engage on drug abuse, human trafficking, pornography addition, dating, and career path. I hold sessions called “SheTalks” where we talk to Teen Mothers for support, single mothers, single women with no kids, divorced, widowed and the married females. We engage on challenges around Women and also offer support making sure women know that they are not alone and that they have the back of another woman who cares.
