Thank you to Difference Makers SA for the work that you do inspiring others to Pay the Love Forward by Changing Lives Making a Difference. I am deeply honoured to be nominated as a Top 100 SA Difference Maker. The person who made this Nomination came true for me is Martie Pansegrow, Editor of the Rooi Rose magazine. The executive director for Difference Makers S.A. Julie Steynberg was asked by the Editor Martie Pansegrow to perform a Blue Ribbon Ceremony that reads: Who you are makes a difference. This took place last year at the Yearly CANSA event in October 2015 in Pretoria. Julie started with a journey getting more involved with the work that Marie do then she Nominated her as a Top 100 SA Difference Maker.
In 2014 Marie was awarded as the National Employee of the year at CANSA. Commitment & Professionalism & Going the extra mile was looked at to receive this award. It is a wonderful opportunity to work for CANSA which enables me to live my life to help people which are less fortunate than me.
Marie is well known as a hard worker and a giver that gives more than is expected of her. She works for the Cancer Association of South Africa from April 2012. Caring for people has always been a part of who I am. When asked who has had the most extraordinary influence on my life, the most obvious answer would be God and then my father and mother, who educated me to believe in God and to love people and nature. The love of my family and friends, as well as their influence in my life has changed and transformed me to become who I am today. I have raised a son on my own. To me he is the most precious gift received from God. His wife and my two grandsons has brought more joy to me than ever before.
Life itself made me: kind, helpful, caring, understanding and loving. Later in life had I learn to love unconditionally, which I know now is a true gift in life when serving people. For most of my life was I involved in charity work and taking care of sick people and people in need.
